Job summary

UCAR is seeking a Machine Learning Educational Trainer to support the EdEC team and NSF NCAR AI Program. The role will coordinate and conduct ML/AI staff training, build Earth system science-focused materials, and curate resources for a diverse learner base.

The position advances AI capabilities across NSF NCAR and contributes to reports and education outcomes. This two-year term includes relocation support up to $3,500 and requires strong communication, collaboration, and program development

Qualifications

• Master’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in designing and delivering training on AI/ML is desirable.
• Ability to develop instructional materials for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Creates and delivers AI/ML training with emphasis on Earth system science applications.
• Coordinates training activities across teams and instructors, plans events and logistics.
• Represents NCAR EdEC in AI Program activities and workforce development.
• Writes reports and communications documenting training impact and lessons learned.
