Job summary

Longvernal Primary School in Midsomer Norton is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support Early Years and Reception classes. The role is fixed-term/temporary until 31 August 2027, term-time plus inset days, with 32.5 hours per week.

You will work under the Early Years Lead/Nursery Manager to deliver agreed activities, communicate with parents, and help raise standards in a warm, supportive environment. Nursery Nurse or Early Years qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Nursery Nurse or Early Years qualification is preferred.
• Experience in a Reception class would be advantageous.
• Ability to work under the guidance of the Early Years Lead/Nursery Manager.

Responsibilities

• Support planned work programmes in or out of the classroom.
• Help raise standards of achievement in Early Years.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers.
• Work with a close-knit team to support learners and reflect Forest School practice.
