Job summary

Weir in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a disciplined welder to join our onsite manufacturing team. You will perform high-quality welding using flux-core or dual-shield wires on mining equipment parts, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet specifications.

You will operate overhead cranes and power tools, fit up parts, and work closely with a skilled team while maintaining a clean, safe workspace and upholding our zero-harm culture.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of heavy welding experience with flux-core or dual-shield welding.
• Ability to weld and fit-up independently.
• Proficient in reading fabrication drawings and using tape measures.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
• Experience with hard-surfacing wire and knowledge of steel properties (nice-to-have).
• Familiarity with material preheating requirements before welding (nice-to-have).
• Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, cutting torches, and air-arc equipment (nice-to-have).
• Previous experience manufacturing or rebuilding heavy mining equipment (nice-to-have).

Responsibilities

• Welding and fitting parts to blueprint specifications.
• Independently fit up parts as needed.
• Read blueprints and weld symbols accurately; use tape measures and basic hand tools.
• Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, cutting torches, and air-arc equipment.
• Collaborate with a team to maintain a productive work environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace with a strong safety focus.
