Job summary

Old Colony Y in Pembroke, MA is seeking a Group Leader to assist in supervising the school-age program under the Site Coordinator. You will help maintain a safe, healthy, and constructive environment aligned with the Y's mission.

Requirements include 18+, 6 months of school-age experience, CPR/AED and First Aid, health exam, TB and MMR immunity, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age and 6 months of school-age experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
• Evidence of a physical examination within the last 12 months.
• Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
• Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work as part of a cohesive team.
• Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
• Will sometimes work early morning, late nights, and weekends.
• Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking responsibilities.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75 lbs on occasion and 40 lbs frequently (children).
• Ability to understand Y-USA's three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.

Job Overview

Under the supervision of the School Age Site Coordinator, the Group Leader will assist in supervising the program and ensuring a safe, healthy, and constructive environment for all children involved. The Group Leader will ensure that all responsibilities reflect the mission beliefs of the Old Colony Y, uphold the employee code of conduct, and display and encourage caring, responsibility, honesty, and respect in all job duties.
