Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate in Portland, ME to move freight between dock and trailers. The role requires operating forklift equipment, verifying shipment details, and securing cargo for transport. You will assist customers, handle hostling duties if needed, and ensure accurate documentation in a fast-paced, weather-exposed environment.

Starting pay is $22.92 per hour with opportunities up to $26.82. Shift is 05:00–10:00.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Experience with hostler/yard mule is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck as needed.
• Verify freight documentation matches description and weight.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
