Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota in Ada, MN is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to build meaningful relationships while providing guidance and support in a person-centered care approach. This full-time role includes shift coverage from 7:00am–7:00pm and a supportive team focused on dignity and independence.

You will assist with daily living activities, help residents stay active in the community, document care, and participate in trainings.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or formal education required; training provided.
• Must read and write in English to ensure clear communication.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Must be able to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meals, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for people’s rights, needs and preferences.
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
