Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of MN (LSS) is hiring a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide person-centered care and daily living assistance. You’ll build meaningful relationships, support independence, and help with transportation within a residential setting serving up to four individuals.

We offer a $2,500 hiring bonus, wage progression after six months, and a supportive, inclusive team with extensive benefits for those working 30+ hours per week.

Qualifications

• Heart for helping others and supporting people with identified needs through person-centered care.
• No prior formal education required; training provided.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care and stay connected with the team.
• Ability to read and write in English to ensure clear communication.
• A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record for community mobility.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check for a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance and support.
• Assist with daily living activities including personal care, meals, and transportation.
• Support community involvement and independent living skills.
• Advocate for rights and preferences of people with identified needs.
• Monitor health, complete required documentation, and participate in training.
• Work in a residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people.
