Job summary

Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery seeks a dedicated baker to produce artisan pastries, breads, and baked goods daily using high-quality ingredients. You will follow recipes, manage dough prep, and support production for catering, wholesale, and retail items.

The role requires early-morning shifts (3am-11am) and weekend availability, with a focus on precision, teamwork, and customer-facing enthusiasm in a community-driven cafe and market.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Available for weekend shifts and 3am–11am shifts.
• Must possess a passion for local food and an interest in telling the story behind it.
• Must conduct oneself professionally and respectfully at all times.
• Must enjoy interacting with people and delivering excellent customer service.
• Able to take direction, work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Produces Swamp baked goods including baking, mixing, scaling, portioning recipes and following weight standards.
• Follows daily checklists to prepare and bake a variety of baked goods.
• Mixes, rolls, and proofs dough using industry standard equipment.
• Consolidates and supports Stecca production, including mixing and cutting as needed.
• Packages catering, wholesale and retail items to specification.
• Executes all recipes and procedures with efficiency and accuracy.

The Baker’s role is to produce freshly made, artisan pastries, breads and other baked items, such as laminated croissants, pies and desserts, daily using the best possible ingredients for customers to enjoy the best possible eating experience.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Produces Swamp baked goods including: baking, mixing, scaling, portioning recipes and following proper weight standards
• Follows daily checklists to prepare and bake a variety of unique baked goods
• Mixes, rolls, and proofs dough using industry standard equipment
• Consolidates and supports Stecca production, including mixing and cutting as needed
• Packages catering, wholesale and retail items to specification
• Knows how to execute all recipes and procedures with efficiency and accuracy
