Job summary

Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery is seeking team members to help prepare and serve fresh, local food in a busy cafe setting. You will follow SRCG recipes, prep lists, and packaging procedures to deliver consistent, high-quality meals for cafe and catering orders.

Ideal candidates show a passion for local food, excellent customer service, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative team. Availability includes early mornings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be available to work between 7:00 am - 8:00 pm, weekends may be required.
• Accurately executes SRCG recipes and prep lists to prepare high-quality food in a timely manner.
• Prepares ingredients using knife skills and various techniques (slicing, dicing, breaking down meat).
• Maintains honesty, professionalism and respect in all interactions.
• Demonstrates a passion for local food and strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Accurately executes SRCG recipes and prep lists to prepare and cook high-quality food in a timely manner.
• Prepares ingredients using techniques such as slicing fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese and bread and breaking down meat for recipes.
• Uses knife skills and best practices to safely prepare ingredients in a high-volume kitchen.
• Packages and labels cooked food for catering and cafe service.
• Efficiently prepares, assembles, and packages menu items such as sandwiches, salads, and soups.
• Assists in order production and catering during peak meal times and as needed.

Requirements

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Accurately executes SRCG recipes and prep lists to prepare and cook consistently high-quality food in a timely manner using industry standard equipment
• Prepares ingredients using a variety of techniques such as slicing fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese and bread and breaking down meat for recipes
• Utilizes knife skills and best practices to quickly and safely prepare and cook ingredients in a high volume kitchen
• Packages and labels cooked food for a variety of destinations including catering and cafe service
• Efficiently prepares, assembles, and packages menu items such as sandwiches, salads, and soups
• Assists in order production and caterings during peak meal times and/or as needs arise
