Job summary

Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery is seeking a hardworking baker to join our team. You will bake, portion, and prepare a variety of goods, following recipes and checklists. You will help with packaging for in-store, catering, and wholesale orders while maintaining high standards of quality.

Ideal candidates are 18+, available weekends from 4am to 4pm, with prior baking or mass production experience. A passion for local food and strong customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Weekend availability required; 4am–4pm shifts.
• Previous baking or mass production experience a plus.
• Comfortable with repetitive motions and hot/cold environments.
• Passion for local food and storytelling.
• Professional and respectful demeanor with customers and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Produce Swamp baked goods including baking, mixing, scaling and weighing per recipes.
• Scoop, portion and roll assorted baked goods for production and display.
• Follow daily checklists to prepare and bake a variety of recipes.
• Mix, roll, proof and sheet dough using standard equipment.
• Maintain proper time/temperature guidelines for quality results.
• Pack and sort baked goods for store sales, catering, markets and wholesale orders.
• Prep and chop fruits/vegetables for various recipes.

What you can expect

• Produces Swamp baked goods including: baking, mixing, scaling, portioning recipes and following proper weight standards


• Can scoop, portion, and roll assorted baked goods for prolonged periods of time


• Follows daily checklists to prepare and bake a variety of unique recipes


• Mixes, rolls, proofs, and sheets dough using industry standard equipment


• Follows proper time and temperature guidelines to ensure a quality bake each time


• Sorts, assembles, and packs baked goods for store sales, caterings, market and wholesale orders


• Preps and chops fruits and vegetables for various recipes

Specific Requirements?

• Must be 18 years of age or older


• Must be available for weekend and between the hours of 4am-4pm

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous baking and/or mass production a plus


• Must be comfortable with repetitive motions


• Must be able to work in an often hot or cold environment


• Must possess a passion for local food and an interest in telling the story behind it.


• Must conduct oneself in an honest, professional and respectful manner at all times.
