Job summary

Handley Regional Library seeks a creative and enthusiastic individual to promote early literacy through engaging programs for children, caregivers, and educators. You will work with the Youth Services Manager to oversee the Youth Services Department and to plan, develop, and implement literacy programs for birth to Grade 3.

You will deliver high-quality literacy instruction, coordinate initiatives like Grow a Reader, and plan STEAM-focused activities.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree and experience working with young children.
• Preferred bilingual Spanish/English.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Youth Services Manager in overseeing the Youth Services Department operations.
• Deliver early literacy instruction to children and caregivers.
• Develop and implement literacy programs and services for birth to Grade 3.
• Coordinate Grow a Reader Initiative and Family Place Library initiatives.
• Promote library collections and services through outreach and programming.
• Assist in preparing statistics, reports, and staff schedules.
