Hamilton County Educational Service Center is seeking a Health and Nutrition Classroom Aide for Head Start programs in Cincinnati. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Working knowledge of behaviors/expectations of three- and four-year-old children.
• Ability to maintain adult/child ratio in classroom settings.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to agency policies including Head Start standards and state regulations.
• Set up, serve, and clean up meals, disposing of extra food as needed.
• Receive and store food properly to maintain temperature until service time.
• Dish food into serving containers for small group meals while following safety standards.
• Record number of children eating at service time as directed.
• Assist children with toothbrushing and classroom hygiene routines.
• Support transitions for students arriving and departing the classroom.
• Provide lunch coverage in full day programs for staff.
• Supervise and monitor children to ensure safety indoors and outdoors.
• Assist with diapering and toileting and change clothing if necessary.
• Maintain adult/child ratio at all times.
• Prepare/laminate/cut materials and set up classroom environments.
• Promote positive relationships and self-regulation through established routines.
• Interact positively with children, staff, and families to support learning.
• Utilize technology to improve data collection where appropriate.
• Communicate effectively about program philosophy and goals with the community.
• Monitor each child's health and well-being.
• Demonstrate time management and prioritize workload.
• Collaborate with colleagues to build cohesive relationships across the classroom and district.
• Respond quickly to children in emergencies.
• Assist in cleaning centers and setting up materials between centers.
