Job summary

Butler County Educational Service Center in Hamilton, Ohio is seeking a Part Time Cook to prepare balanced, nutritious meals for Head Start programs. The position starts as soon as possible and follows a 6.5-hour workday, Monday through Thursday, August to May, with occasional travel to other sites.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, and some food service experience; they must follow all safety, sanitation, and USDA regulations and be able to lift up to 30 pounds and climb

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or relevant work experience.
• Six (6) months food service experience preferred.
• Ability to prepare quantity foods following all rules and regulations, in a timely manner.
• Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs multiple times a day while carrying food and supplies.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 30 pounds repeatedly for periods of at least 30 minutes, several times a day.
• Ability to monitor and record temperatures accurately.
• Willingness/ability to work as a team member and travel to another work site if needed.
• Good organizational and time management skills and ability to follow procedures and work schedules accurately and consistently.
• History of good job attendance.
• Must be free from communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• To plan and prepare balanced, nutritious meals conforming to Head Start Standards and applicable Ohio Preschool, BCESC and USDA regulations.
• To ensure compliance with DOA, local health department, state, Servsafe and federal standards for food, sanitation and safety.
• To prepare food and supply requisitions.
