Job summary

The Classroom Aide at Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency (CAA) supports the Head Start Teacher by providing a safe, nurturing learning environment and by supplying materials for daily activities. This position emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and commitment to the agency's mission of building self-sufficiency in the community.

You will assist in maintaining classroom organization, managing inventory, and supporting families from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year clerical or administrative experience, with inventory management and supply responsibilities.
• Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience working effectively with diverse families and communities

Responsibilities

• Support teaching staff by fulfilling requests for supplies needed in the classroom; order supplies as needed.
• Inspect incoming materials for conformity to purchase order specifications; reports shortages, damage, or other discrepancies; provides packaging and logging materials to manager.
• In coordination with teaching staff, rotate items in the classroom to help promote literacy.
• Perform scheduled checks of first aid kits and refill as needed.
• Maintain accurate records to reflect quantity, type and value of materials, equipment, merchandise and supplies in the designated storage room.
• Provide coverage for breaks as needed in the classroom.
• Assist in periodic and annual inventories.
