Job summary

YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo is seeking an Early Learning Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of the designated Early Learning Center, ensuring licensing compliance and alignment with association policies.

This full-time role requires managing staff, training, and scheduling, building strong relationships with families, supporting quality learning environments, and maintaining safety and professional certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood preferred.
• One year of experience with children in a licensed child care program.
• CPR and First Aid certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Satisfactory completion of Comprehensive Background Check.
• LARA qualifications for Early Childhood Program Director required.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily operations of the Early Learning Center including hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling staff.
• Ensure licensing compliance and adherence to Association policies.
• Foster positive relationships with families to promote parent/child engagement.
• Provide direction and coaching to staff to achieve learning outcomes.
• Maintain a high CLASS score in partnership with mentors.
• Respond to emergencies with current First Aid/CPR certifications.
• Work 40 hours weekly including administrative duties; occasional evenings/weekends.
• Complete at least 24 hours of training annually.
