Job summary

The Young Women's Christian Association of Kalamazoo, Mich is seeking a part-time Early Learning Professional Supportive to join our childcare team in Kalamazoo, MI. You will support the care and development of children from 6 weeks to 12 years in a structured early learning setting, collaborating with a teaching team to deliver engaging activities.

Required are a high school diploma and relevant training in early childhood education; two years of childcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Significant post-high school education or training in early childhood education or related field.
Two years of experience working with young children and families.
Licensed childcare experience preferred.
Understanding of Creative Curriculum and developmental screening tools preferred.
Ability to meet requirements of licensing and pass background checks.
Able to work with people of diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Assist children with daily activities including toileting, hygiene, dressing and meals.
Organize and implement age-appropriate learning activities within the curriculum.
Observe and assess using Teaching Strategies GOLD and ASQ-3/ASQ-SE.
Supervise children to ensure safety and social development.
Collaborate with Site Director and teaching team to address programmatic or family concerns.
Contribute to mealtime and field trip activities; promote healthy habits.
