Job summary

YWCA Kalamazoo seeks Early Learning Professionals (Child Care Support Staff) to join a teaching team. You will support care and development of children from 6 weeks to 12 years in a structured learning environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with relevant training in early childhood education. You will work closely with the Site Director and teaching staff to ensure quality program delivery and family communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Post-high school education or training in early childhood education or related field preferred.
• Meet Lead Teacher requirements per Michigan licensing.

Responsibilities

• Assist children in daily activities including toileting and personal hygiene.
• Organize age-appropriate learning activities within the approved curriculum.
• Observe and assess using Teaching Strategies GOLD and ASQ tools.
• Supervise children to ensure safety and promote socialization.
• Communicate with parents regarding daily activities and progress.
