Job summary

Kitsap Community Resources seeks a Head Start Teacher Aide to support 3- to 5-year-old children in Head Start classrooms in Bremerton, WA. The role uses an approved curriculum to promote routines, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.

This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Child Development Site Supervisor and may travel between Head Start sites. We offer a robust benefits package including 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, life, and disability for employees,

Qualifications

• Required Education: CDA or an Early Childhood Education General Certificate plus an additional 10 credits of Early Childhood coursework
• Preferred Education: AA in Early Childhood Education
• Early Head Start/Head Start experience preferred
• Ability to pass State and/or Federal Background Checks prior to hire

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher in developing and implementing daily/weekly lesson plans
• Supervise children to maintain a safe, clean, and respectful learning environment
• Provide routine care including diapering, toileting, and feeding practices
• Support compliance with Head Start standards and WAC requirements
• Maintain records and participate in site meetings and trainings
