Job summary

The Opportunity Alliance in Portland, ME is seeking a Teacher Aide to join Head Start classrooms. You will collaborate with teachers to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for children ages 3–5.

The role focuses on social-emotional development and responsive teaching in a low teacher-to-child ratio setting. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (with CDA path encouraged within 2 years); prior early childhood experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent or be in a CDA credential program within 2 years of hire.
• Experience with early childhood education or related settings preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with teams and families, and commit to Head Start mission.
