Job summary

United Ability is hiring a Speech Language Pathologist to provide early intervention services for children from birth to age 3 in Birmingham, AL. The role involves evaluations and therapy in home and community settings to help children reach maximum independence.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, valid AL licensure, and CCC-SLP (or pursuing). ABESPA/ASHA certifications are preferred, with strong documentation and caregiver training expectations.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
  • Current AL license to practice is required.
  • CCC-SLP or in progress is required.
  • ABESPA and ASHA licenses are preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and EMR use required.
  • Experience in pediatric speech therapy preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech-language therapy services for children in homes and community settings as part of Early Intervention.
  • Communicate with families regarding child’s progress.
  • Implement and monitor individualized treatment plans to maximize independence.
  • Demonstrate activities to caregivers and provide home programs as appropriate.
  • Complete required documentation for each child.
