Job summary

The Office of State Human Resources, through Temporary Solutions, seeks an Education and Training Specialist (S) in Rocky Mount, NC. This temporary role supports the Department of Health and Human Services by developing Individualized Family Service Plans, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, conducting home visits, and monitoring early intervention services.

This temporary position is located in Rocky Mount, NC - Nash County.


Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $24.41 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).


This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at141 Storage Rd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.


Duties include working with families and providers to develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), work with multidisciplinary teams to determine families' needs for supports and services, conduct home visits, coordinate and facilitate services and transition planning, and participate in the authorization and monitoring of early intervention services.


Eeffective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. Management Preferences:


  • Thorough knowledge of the concepts, practices, and techniques of the field of early childhood developmental disabilities and infant mental health, including assessments and development of comprehensive treatment plans.


  • Skill in developing, writing and documenting child progress in individualized family service plans


  • Ability to coordinate and instruct staff, family members and care providers in carrying out methods and techniques utilized in developmental disabilities and infant and child mental health and family studies field


  • Ability to establish rapport and relate to clients, families, community agencies and groups and a variety of service disciplines


  • Ability to manage time independently and develop and use methods of organization to facilitate compliance with all timelines, documentation requirements and procedural safeguards



Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor s degree in Special Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education, Psychology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional experience working with the population served; or Bachelor s degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of professional experience working with the population served; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
