Easterseals Early Learning Center- Gilchrist Marchman in Chicago seeks a full-time Teacher to provide early care and education to children aged 0-3, collaborating with a teaching team to create an engaging, family-centered classroom.

The center, part of Head Start/Early Head Start, emphasizes inclusive education and developmentally appropriate practices using the Creative Curriculum. The location is at 1310 S. Racine Ave, Chicago, IL 60608, and a $4,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• AA degree in Early Childhood Education with Infant/Toddler Credential Level 4.
• Preferred BA degree: ECE with Infant/Toddler Credential Level 5.
• Knowledge of child development.

Responsibilities

• Implement Early Head Start/Prevention Initiative programs.
• Lead classroom team and promote teamwork with staff, parents, and children.
• Ensure developmentally appropriate practice using Creative Curriculum.
• Create an inclusive learning environment supporting children with delays or disabilities.
• Plan lessons using CREATIVE Curriculum data, screenings, and IFSPs.
• Maintain high-quality observations and documentation in COPA/ChildPlus/Teaching Strategies GOLD.
• Provide a safe environment with active supervision and complete screenings/assessments.
• Communicate with families and conduct parent-teacher conferences and home visits.
• Refer children for further evaluation when needed; participate in IFSP meetings.
• Collaborate with consultants, site staff, and Easterseals personnel.
• Support social-emotional development via the pyramid model.
• Maintain classroom equipment, inventory, and report repairs.
• Attend trainings, meetings and participate in evaluations.
• Support School Readiness goals and coaching to fidelity.
• Complete professional development both on- and off-site.
