Job summary

Easterseals Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Traveling Teacher to provide temporary classroom coverage in Head Start and Early Head Start across Partner Sites in the Chicagoland area. Assignments average 4 weeks, with potential extensions; mileage reimbursement is provided.

The role requires a background in early childhood education, proper certifications, and the ability to travel between sites, including City of Chicago and suburbs. A $4,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• EHS/PI only: Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education; working toward Gateways Level 4.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of Creative Curriculum and uses the Creative Curriculum system.
• Leads classroom team to create a developmentally appropriate environment.
• Supervises all activities of the children at all times.
• Attends trainings and meetings; completes ongoing professional development.
• Prepares reports on classroom activities and attendance.
• Travel between Partner Sites across Chicagoland; mileage reimbursement available.
