Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Teacher Assistant for Head Start/Early Head Start programs in the Los Angeles area. You will support children aged 2–3 with a curriculum emphasizing social, emotional, intellectual and physical development, aligned to licensing standards.

The role involves teamwork with a Co-Teacher and Family Advocate to serve diverse families. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and relevant ECE/CD units; bilingual English and Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• AA in ECE/CD with 24 CD units, including 6 infant/toddler units.
• 24 CD units in ECE/CD, including 6 units infant/toddler for EHS.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements the program curriculum for morning and afternoon classes.
• Integrates HS services into learning, including parent involvement, social services, nutrition, health and mental health.
• Observes, screens, and assesses children’s developmental levels.
