Job summary

Neighbors In Need Of Services Inc seeks a dedicated Early Head Start lead teacher to manage an assigned classroom. You will oversee daily operations, ensure curriculum activities meet performance standards, and supervise staff to support healthy child development.

Your role includes planning lessons, coordinating nutrition, maintaining child records, and attending required trainings while partnering with Head Start families to promote wellbeing and learning success.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have no criminal record or charges pending.
• Must have a valid driver's license and liability insurance.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
• Must have a clear TB and physical examination before start date.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have a CDA for Infants and Toddlers Caregivers.
• Must have 3 years' experience with infants and toddlers.

Responsibilities

• In charge of the assigned Early Head Start classroom.
• Responsible for overall operation and management of the classroom.
• Work in a team teaching environment and ensure curriculum activities align with program standards.
• Maintain proper nutrition records for all children.
• Assist in formulating and maintaining individual child records.
• Develop daily/weekly classroom lesson plans.
• Ensure screenings are conducted and follow-up completed.
• Attend staff training and trainings as needed.
• Support Head Start families in child health and academic success.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Occasional weekend, holiday, or evening duties per director request.
