Job summary

Centro de la Familia seeks a Teacher Assistant to support Lead Teacher in delivering a developmentally appropriate early childhood education program for infants and toddlers in a Head Start setting.

You will collaborate with families, staff, and volunteers, assist with meals, and implement plans to promote growth and development. Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred; CPR/First Aid and Food Handler permits are required.

Qualifications

• Current Preschool CDA or a plan to earn one within 6 months, or an associate/bachelor's degree in early childhood education/child development or related field within two years of hire.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler's permits.
• Willingness to work with children with special needs and those with limited or no English language skills.
• Preferred bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Administer a developmentally appropriate early childhood education program under guidance of Lead Teacher and Education Specialist.
• Meet the individual and holistic needs of infants and toddlers.
• Collaborate with parents, families, staff, and volunteers; assist with meals and snacks.
• Support classroom environment, planning, and individualized learning using observations and assessments.
