Job summary

Rolling Plains Management Corporation in Vernon, TX, is seeking a part-time Early Head Start Floating Teacher Assistant to support the Lead Teacher in a Head Start classroom for ages three to five.

The role involves planning and implementing activities, ensuring compliance with Child Care Minimum Standards and Head Start performance standards, and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment for children and families. Light travel and willingness to obtain a CDA are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CDA credential preferred; if not, will be classified as EHS Teacher in Training and must obtain CDA within one year (cost covered).
• Willing to pass drug/alcohol test and background checks.
• Provide reliable transportation and hold a valid Texas driver's license.
• Must pass TB tests and have satisfactory MVR and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in planning, implementing, and administering the program
• Ensure compliance with Child Care Minimum Standards, Head Start performance standards, and local regulations
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging educational environment for infants, toddlers, and their families
• Abide by program Standards of Conduct and essential functions of the role
