Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CDA credential preferred; if not, will be classified as EHS Teacher in Training and must obtain CDA within one year (cost covered).
• Willing to pass drug/alcohol test and background checks.
• Provide reliable transportation and hold a valid Texas driver's license.
• Must pass TB tests and have satisfactory MVR and insurability.

Job Title: Early Head Start Floating Teacher Assistant – Wilbarger County Preschool
Job Location: Vernon, TX 76384
Salary Range: $12.98 - $15.58 Hourly
Employer: Rolling Plains Management Corporation (RPMC)
Employment Type: Part-time (25 hours per week, Monday–Friday; schedule may vary by Center)

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Center Director, the Teacher Assistants “in training” assist the Lead Teacher in planning, implementing, and administering the program in compliance with the Child Care Minimum Standards, Head Start performance standards, the Agency's school readiness goals, and all other federal, state, and local regulations relating to children ages three to five. All Teacher Assistants-in‑Training staff shall agree to abide by the program's Standards of Conduct introduced during pre‑service and/or orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in planning, implementing, and administering the program
• Ensure compliance with Child Care Minimum Standards, Head Start performance standards, and local regulations
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging educational environment for infants, toddlers, and their families

• Maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet insurability requirements

Physical Demands

• Regular lifting of infants, toddlers, classroom supplies, and equipment; occasional lifting of furniture
