Job summary

Cadence Education Canton CT seeks a Preschool Teacher to support daily classroom operations under the School Director and Lead Teacher. You will foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports children’s physical, social, emotional, and developmental needs, including those with IEPs.

The role involves maintaining routines, supporting curriculum delivery, and building positive relationships.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a classroom team.
• Comfort with following safety procedures and licensing requirements in a childcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Greet children and families daily and establish welcoming relationships.
• Assist in recognizing and addressing individual developmental, behavioral, cultural, and learning needs, including following IEPs and behavior support plans.
• Support Lead Teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and Cadence Signature Programs.
• Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and leadership using Cadence-approved tools.
• Follow the Cadence Education Safety and Supervision Manual and report accidents/incidents as required.
• Help manage, document, and escalate child behaviors per Cadence policies and classroom expectations.
• Adhere to Cadence policies and Employee Handbook.
• Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development, which may occur outside regular hours.
