Job summary

Child Crisis Arizona is hiring for a Head Start Teacher I in our Early Education Services Department. You will support a Teacher II in a twenty-child classroom, helping build a positive, learning-focused environment with play-based activities that meet diverse needs.

Required are a Preschool CDA (or in progress), HS Diploma or GED, and 6 months’ experience with children birth to five. Bilingual abilities are a plus, with driving and background checks as part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Preschool CDA or enrolled in a CDA or degree seeking program.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months experience working with children birth– five in a group setting.
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood or related field with infant/toddler credits.
• Spanish/English bilingual capabilities preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A level one fingerprint clearance card or the ability to obtain one prior to starting.
• Pass a Central Registry Background Check, CAN State Registry Check and Criminal History Check.
• Must have valid Arizona Driver’s License and Pass an Agency driver’s Test.
• Must have clean driving record for past 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Support Teacher II in a classroom of twenty children.
• Assist with classroom planning, home visits, child screenings and assessments.
• Facilitate meals and document CACFP meal program.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity and create a positive learning environment.
