Job summary

Child Crisis Arizona is hiring for a Head Start Teacher I in our Early Education Services Department. You will support a Teacher II in a twenty-child classroom, helping build a positive, learning-focused environment with play-based activities that meet diverse needs.

Required are a Preschool CDA (or in progress), HS Diploma or GED, and 6 months’ experience with children birth to five. Bilingual abilities are a plus, with driving and background checks as part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Preschool CDA or enrolled in a CDA or degree seeking program.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months experience working with children birth– five in a group setting.
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood or related field with infant/toddler credits.
• Spanish/English bilingual capabilities preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A level one fingerprint clearance card or the ability to obtain one prior to starting.
• Pass a Central Registry Background Check, CAN State Registry Check and Criminal History Check.
• Must have valid Arizona Driver’s License and Pass an Agency driver’s Test.
• Must have clean driving record for past 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Support Teacher II in a classroom of twenty children.
• Assist with classroom planning, home visits, child screenings and assessments.
• Facilitate meals and document CACFP meal program.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity and create a positive learning environment.

Our mission is to provide children and youth in Arizona a safe environment, free from abuse and neglect by creating strong and successful families.Our Head Start program is ready to hire Teacher I’s to join the team in our Early Education Services Department.We are looking for compassionate, energetic, and dependable individuals that are committed to build a classroom of learning for children receiving services.In this role, you will spend most of your time providing support to the Teacher II in a fun, positive classroom setting providing a safe and secure environment for twenty children. Play will guide your day as you create an energetic classroom filled with activities that meet the needs of children’s interests and differing skills. You will encourage responsibility, independence, and problem solving through positive guidance methods. You will support classroom planning, completion of home visits, child screenings and assessments.
