Job summary

Union R-XI School District seeks a Paraprofessional to support teachers and students, reinforcing classroom learning and assisting with assessments and daily tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a Missouri paraprofessional certificate and/or 60 college hours with a Missouri substitute teaching certificate. A bachelor’s degree and teaching certification are preferred but not required, along with background clearance and a strong commitment to student confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional certificate and/or 60 college hours and Missouri substitute teaching certificate required.
• Transcript or test results must be submitted with the application.
• Bachelor’s degree and Missouri teaching certification preferred, not required.
• Criminal justice fingerprint and background clearance required.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications may be acceptable per Board/Superintendent.
• Coaching experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assists and supports teachers and students.
• Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assists in devising strategies to reinforce learning based on student needs.
• Monitors work, corrects papers, and supervises assessments and makeup work.
• Performs clerical and classroom maintenance duties as assigned.
• Maintains confidentiality and ethical handling of student information.
• Participates in in-service training and adheres to deadlines and district procedures.
• Follows safety protocols and supports a positive learning environment.
• Attends meetings as requested by administration.
• Maintains professional development records.
