Job summary

UNION R-XI SCHOOL DISRTICT is seeking a Paraprofessional to support teachers and students in a dynamic elementary/middle school setting. The position follows the district salary schedule with steps, and entry can be at step 1 through 11 depending on prior experience.

Qualifications include a valid Missouri paraprofessional certificate or at least 60 college credit hours and/or Missouri substitute teaching certification, plus background clearance.

Qualifications

• Valid Missouri paraprofessional certificate and/or 60 college credit hours and Missouri substitute teaching certificate.
• Criminal justice fingerprint and background clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree and MO teaching certification preferred, not required.
• Coaching experience may be preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assists certified staff in devising strategies for reinforcing learning based on students’ needs.
• Monitors work, corrects papers, and supervises tests and makeup work.
• Performs clerical, classroom maintenance, and instructional duties as assigned.
• Alerts staff to any problems or information about a student.
• Supervises students during lunch, play, and field trips.
• Maintains confidentiality of information about students.
• Participates in in-service training and professional development hours.
• Maintains safe working environment and supports safe practices.
• Performs other duties as directed by staff.
