Job summary

Shawnee Public Schools is seeking a Daycare Paraprofessional for Shawnee Early Childhood Center. Reports to the PupPack Coordinator and Building Principal, at Shawnee ECC.

The role supports students' social, communication, and intellectual development under supervision. CPR cert and education/experience requirements apply; duties include classroom support, record-keeping, and basic care tasks within a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• Associate degree or 48 hours college credit or pass the Oklahoma GED or pass the WorkKeys Test.

Responsibilities

• Student behavior management strategies and safety.
• May assist students with personal care and minor first aid.
• Perform housekeeping duties to keep classroom neat.
• Operate photocopier, laminator, and duplicator; obtain supplies for activities.
• Supervise and monitor the safety of children in their care.
• Prepare meals and organize mealtimes and snacks.
• Help children maintain good hygiene.
• Change diapers of infants and toddlers.
• Organize activities or implement a curriculum for learning.
• Develop schedules and routines with physical activity and rest.
• Observe and report signs of emotional or developmental issues.
• Keep records of children's progress and routines.
• Introduce basics such as manners through reading and play.
