Job summary

Education Service Center, Region 2 is seeking a Pre-K Paraprofessional to support a preschool classroom and help implement daily activities. This role focuses on nurturing development, assisting teachers, and fostering positive relationships with families and staff.

The position emphasizes collaboration with the classroom team, patient instruction, and attentive supervision to ensure a safe, engaging learning environment for young children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate degree or paraprofessional certification is preferred depending on state/local regulations.
• Experience with preschool or early childhood-aged children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with implementing daily lesson plans and activities.
• Support students individually and in small groups to reinforce academic and developmental skills.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, meals, restroom breaks, and transitions.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
• Encourage positive behavior and model appropriate social and emotional skills.
• Assist with preparing instructional materials, learning centers, and classroom displays.
• Observe student progress and communicate observations to the classroom teacher.
• Assist with assessments, recordkeeping, and documentation as directed.
• Support students with personal care needs, including toileting, handwashing, and mealtime routines, as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
• Communicate professionally and positively with families, staff, and administrators.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or administrator.
