Job summary

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is seeking a part-time direct support aide to assist children under ECSE, PT, OT, SLP, MT and BCBA supervision. You will help develop cognitive, communication, self-help, social, motor, and sensory processing skills in a clinical educational setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with self-care routines, preparing materials, substituting for teachers, participating in therapy sessions and parent conferences, and maintaining a clean, hygienic environment while

• Communication is required.
• Technologically competent is required.
• Knowledge of disabilities and child and family development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to children under supervision to develop cognitive, communication, self-help, social, motor, and sensory processing skills.
• Assist with self-care routines including diapering, feeding, toilet training, and hand washing.
• Prepare materials, organize classroom and storage areas, and help maintain and order supplies.
• Substitute for teachers and/or paraprofessionals when absent.
• Participate in therapy sessions and parent conferences as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic environment and assist with duties such as unloading/loading dishwasher, cleaning the pool, and washing toys.
• Collaborate with ECSE, PT, OT, SLP, MT, and BCBAs; train students, interns, volunteers, and family members.
• Communicate honestly and follow HIPAA guidelines; use of social media appropriately.
