Job summary

SRCAA Head Start seeks a dedicated classroom assistant to support Lead Teacher in providing a safe, engaging learning environment for children in our EHS program. You will assist with instructional activities, behavior management, and active supervision during indoor and outdoor activities.

The role requires CDA or state credentials, basic computer skills, and the ability to obtain First Aid/CPR within 90 days. This is a full-time, on-site position in Lexington, NC with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• CDA credential or state certificate required.
• Ability to obtain First Aid and Infant/Child CPR within 90 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Assists in facilitating center/classroom activities, including daily activities and field trips.
• Works with staff and families to support curriculum and family engagement.
• Maintains health and safety policies and procedures.
• Plans with Lead Teacher to complete lesson plans and anecdotal notes.
• Ensures supervision and a safe learning environment for all children.
