Job summary

Knox County Board of Developmental Disabilities is seeking an Early Childhood Developmental Specialist to join its team. This full-time role runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a starting salary of $44,821, commensurate with experience.

The ECS will provide developmental services to infants and toddlers birth through five with disabilities, collaborating with families. Responsibilities include assessments, IFSP development, data documentation, and interprofessional collaboration within Help Me Grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education, health, social or behavior sciences from an accredited college or university.
• DODD Developmental Specialist certification or ability to obtain one.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License, current First Aid and CPR, BCI/FBI, nurse registry, abuse registry clearance, pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmental services to infants and toddlers birth through five with a disability.
• Administer Bayley Scales to determine eligibility and provide a clinical assessment as needed.
• Develop IFSP/Child and Family Plan and share information within 45 days of referral.
• Maintain a mixed caseload and collaborate with Help Me Grow for timely interventions.
• Attend team meetings and joint home visits with professionals.
• Maintain timely case notes and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Report unusual incidents as required by law and cooperate with investigations.
