Job summary

Portage County Business Council is seeking a dedicated caregiver to support the Children’s Discovery Center in Stevens Point. The role is full-time (37.5 hours weekly) with starting pay of $15.41-$16.95 per hour, depending on experience, plus benefits including PTO, holidays, 401K (6% match), life insurance, health, dental, vision and disability coverage.

Responsibilities include assisting the teacher with developmentally appropriate activities and curricula.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• Completion of two courses in Early Childhood Education through an institute of higher education.
• Six months of related work experience working in Early Childhood.
• Must obtain and maintain a current certificate of completion for infant and child CPR with AED within 2 months of hire.
• Certificate of completion of Abusive Head Trauma training prior to working at the center.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparing and conducting classroom activities which provide a developmentally age and stage appropriate curriculum, utilizing developmentally appropriate practices as outlined in the Program’s philosophy and Creative Curriculum.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Two courses in Early Childhood Education

CPR with AED certification
