Job summary

Wisconsin Head Start Association at the Children's Discovery Center in Stevens Point is hiring a full-time Early Childhood Assistant. Starts August 5, 2026 with pay $15.41–$16.95 per hour, depending on experience.

The role involves assisting the teacher with developmentally appropriate classroom activities and following the program's philosophy and Creative Curriculum. Benefits include PTO, holidays, 401K (6% match), life and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• Completion of two courses in Early Childhood Education through an institute of higher education.
• Six months' related work experience in Early Childhood.
• Must obtain and maintain a current CPR certificate with AED within 2 months of hire.
• Certificate of Abusive Head Trauma training prior to working at the center.

Responsibilities

Status:Full-time - 37.5 hours per week

Duties:Assist the teacher in preparing and conducting classroom activities which provide a developmentally age and stage appropriate curriculum, utilizing developmentally appropriate practices as outlined in the Program's philosophy and Creative Curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications:

-If you do not meet the minimum qualifications, on the job training may be provided.

• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• Completion of two courses in Early Childhood Education through an institute of higher education.
• Six months' related work experience working in Early Childhood.
• Must obtain and maintain a current certificate of completion for infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation w/AED (CPR) within 2 months of hire.
• Certificate of completion of Abusive Head Trauma training prior to working at the center.
