You will assist in maintaining classroom organization, managing inventory, and supporting families from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year clerical or administrative experience, with inventory management and supply responsibilities.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience working effectively with diverse families and communities

Responsibilities

  • Support teaching staff by fulfilling requests for supplies needed in the classroom; order supplies as needed.
  • Inspect incoming materials for conformity to purchase order specifications; reports shortages, damage, or other discrepancies; provides packaging and logging materials to manager.
  • In coordination with teaching staff, rotate items in the classroom to help promote literacy.
  • Perform scheduled checks of first aid kits and refill as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records to reflect quantity, type and value of materials, equipment, merchandise and supplies in the designated storage room.
  • Provide coverage for breaks as needed in the classroom.
  • Assist in periodic and annual inventories.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Classroom Aide at CHCCAA plays a crucial role in advancing our mission to expand opportunities and build self-sufficiency for our community members. This position supports the Head Start Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. The role involves providing supplies materials and support for the classroom, and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.The ideal candidate will use their skills to embody our values and contribute to our vision of a thriving, self-sufficient community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Functional Responsibilities
  • Support teaching staff by fulfilling requests for supplies needed in the classroom; order supplies as needed.
