Job summary

Southside School District's Southside School Child Care is seeking a Classroom Paraprofessional to support the classroom teacher and students. You will assist with planning and implementing early childhood activities, promoting language, social and motor development, and maintaining a safe, organized learning space.

The role requires good communication, reliable documentation in data systems, ability to work with families, and readiness to travel for training as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
• Ability to provide timely and cohesive documentation in designated data management systems.
• Must pass maltreatment, criminal background and FBI checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing early childhood educational experiences.
• Develop and follow a daily schedule to promote developmentally appropriate activities.
• Support lesson planning and curriculum to engage children in language, reasoning, fine and gross motor activities, and social development.
• Maintain documentation and reporting forms for the children.
• Collaborate with parents to promote understanding of child growth and development.
• Supervise children and assist in maintaining safety and classroom organization.
• Supervise volunteers or interns and coordinate with the director as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and training; travel for training as required.
