Job summary

Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. seeks a staff member to assist in classroom activities for 3- and 4-year-olds. You will work with the lead Teacher and Associate Teacher as third-person support to implement developmentally appropriate practices.

Qualified candidates will have experience with young children; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. This is a full-time, 10-month position with the standard school-year schedule and generous fringe benefits.

Qualifications

• Background clearances (3) required by state/federal regulations.
• Proof of education required to meet position qualifications.
• Experience with young children preferred.
• Bilingual abilities English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out educational activities in the classroom as part of a team with the lead and associate teachers.
• Provide and maintain an atmosphere in the state-funded classroom that promotes school readiness for 3- and 4-year-olds.
