Job summary

Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. is seeking a part-time substitute aide to assist in Head Start classrooms. Work as part of a team to support early education activities for 3- and 4-year-old children, helping staff implement lesson plans and maintain a positive learning environment.

This role offers school-year hours August through June, with an 'as needed' basis for substitutions, and requires background clearances and proof of education. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Background clearances required per state/federal regulations.
• Proof of education required to meet position qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out educational activities in the Head Start classroom setting with a team.
• Partner with education staff as in-class support on an as-needed basis.
• Serve as a substitute staff member to fill in for absences in the classroom.
• Promote school readiness and developmentally appropriate practices for 3- and 4-year-old children.
