Job summary

Luzerne County Head Start is seeking qualified early childhood educators to deliver developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with the curriculum philosophy. The role involves planning, implementing activities, and managing classrooms to promote school readiness. Candidates should hold an AA or BS in ECE; PA Certification PK-4 is preferred for PreK Counts classrooms.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Staff must meet background clearance requirements, with summer break between school years

Qualifications

• AA, BS or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field (ECE) required/preferred.
• PA Certification PK-4 Instructional I preferred/required for PreK Counts classroom assignments.
• Bilingual abilities in English/Spanish are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum philosophy.
• Plan and implement educational activities; manage classroom and curriculum-based activities.
• Evaluate and document children’s progress; communicate with parents regularly.
