Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Nashua Merrimack Branch is seeking an Associate Teacher to work with the Lead Teacher to deliver high-quality early childhood education. You’ll bring creativity, compassion, and a playful spirit to the classroom while partnering with a team of three teachers.

You will engage children with age-appropriate activities, create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment, and build strong relationships with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of nine college credits in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Interest in the growth, development, and well-being of young children.
• Ability to meet licensing, background screening, and YMCA requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Early Childcare curriculum development with the Lead Teacher.
• Deliver Early Childcare program activities and supervise the classroom.
• Facilitate curriculum activities to provide positive learning experiences.
• Maintain appropriate behavior standards using non-punitive methods.
• Supervise play areas to ensure safety and learning.
• Perform clerical, cleaning and facility maintenance duties as assigned.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; participate in continuing education.
• Collaborate with staff and communicate with families as appropriate.
• Complete 18 hours of continuing education within the first nine months.
