Job summary

TEAM INC in Waterbury, CT is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join a supportive, collaborative early childhood team. You will work with educators and specialists to create safe, engaging classrooms and help implement individualized instruction and developmentally appropriate activities.

Qualifications

• CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education required or preferred.
• 6+ months of experience with preschoolers, infants, or toddlers.
• Warm, nurturing presence and genuine love for working with young children and families.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and Head Start standards preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Head Teacher to create a classroom environment where every child feels safe, seen, and supported.
• Help bring curriculum to life through thoughtful, individualized instruction that meets each child’s needs.
• Use positive guidance techniques that build children’s confidence and create a calm, structured environment.
• Observe and document children’s growth weekly.
• Collaborate with specialists and support staff to address children’s needs.
• Build warm, trusting relationships with families through communication, home visits, and engagement events.
• Maintain a beautiful, organized classroom reflecting TEAM’s commitment to safety and innovation.
• Actively participate in professional development, staff meetings, and agency events.

Education

CDA or Associate/Bachelor in Early Childhood Education

Bilingual in Spanish and English (plus)
