Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Early Career Structural (Buildings) Engineer to join our Federal Programs AEC Team. The role provides broad exposure to structural design, renovations, foundations, and seismic design across multiple U.S. locations including Portland, OR.

You will contribute from design through construction-phase support under direct mentorship. Ideal candidates are recent graduates with a structural/civil engineering background, strong analytical and communication skills, and a willingness

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 0 to 1 year of structural engineering experience, including internship or co-op.
  • Ability to research codes, standards, and design criteria.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis and design standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities for engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with structural analysis and design of new and existing buildings under supervision.
  • Develop structural drawings, specifications, calculations, and design documents.
  • Perform routine structural calculations and evaluate building loads using software.
  • Coordinate with architectural, civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical teams.
  • Prepare structural calculations, design drawings, and BIM models.
  • Participate in site visits and construction-phase services and document conditions.
