The Florida Department of Transportation is seeking a Structures Design Engineer I to support the Structures Design Office in Tallahassee. The role focuses on developing and publishing design manuals and bulletins, performing in-house bridge design tasks, and contributing to policy proposals and revisions.

Candidates should hold a PE license and demonstrate knowledge of FDOT standards, AASHTO LRFD, and CAD software.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FDOT standards and design manuals.
• Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
• Knowledge of structural engineering practices and CAD software.
• Ability to use design/analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and publish the Structures Manual and Bulletins.
• Perform design tasks for in-house bridge projects and studies.
• Develop and implement design policy proposals; review revisions to AASHTO specifications.
• Participate in research project reviews and implement results.
• Conduct QA reviews of the Districts.
