Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking an EAM Value Realization, Emerging Talent Intern for its Strategic Initiatives department in New York. The role focuses on digitizing assets in GIS and leveraging the Data Lake to generate analytics that inform asset management decisions.

This on-site internship requires a minimum of 20 hours per week and offers hourly rates for undergraduates and graduates.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with GPA ≥ 2.5 or a graduate program with GPA ≥ 2.8.
• Preferred majors: Engineering, Computer Science, GIS, Transportation, Urban Planning, Information Science.
• Strong organization, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Use EAM and other data to help teams make better decisions and improve operations.
• Analyze asset performance to identify failures, root causes, and opportunities to improve reliability and productivity.
• Identify ways to reduce costs and improve efficiency through process, resource, risk, and operational analysis.
• Support improvement projects by using data to demonstrate opportunities, track results, and help address implementation challenges and develop best practices.
• Collaborate with agency leaders, operations and maintenance teams, and analytics teams to solve problems and share useful insights.
• Support better management of physical assets throughout their full life cycle, from planning and use through maintenance and replacement.
• Help improve service quality and overall performance using EAM and other available data.
• Create and maintain applications or tools that make day-to-day operations easier and more efficient.
